t is the present time. The Wizarding World, while it may not seem like this to the naked eye, is in turmoil. A Wizarding Crime Syndicate known only as The Seven have risen. This new organization is led by the mysterious Dark Wizard, Sir Daniel Marsden.

Sir Marsden was once a very talented student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Joining the school when he was at the age of eleven, the Sorting Hat announced him as a Ravenclaw immediately after it touched his head. Marsden grew up at Hogwarts, making impressive marks in every class. . Once Marsden completed his seventh year, while all of the other students were deciding which career they would choose, Marsden left the school with six of his closest friends from Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin, making a small group known as The Seven. Those seven students were never heard from again until much later. Two years after they left Hogwarts, all of their records at the school mysteriously vanished. Nearly ten years later, there was an incident. A very kind and wealthy Wizarding Family were found murdered in their manor in Edinburgh. Aurors at the scene saw that the mansion had been completely stripped of all of the family's posessions. The Ministry of Magic was puzzled by this crime. There was no trace of anyone else in the manor other than the owner, his wife, and two children. The only evidence that was found was a large, firery numeral seven conjured in air above the house.

As the Wizarding World celebrated the new millineum, The Seven had secretly grown into the largest band of Dark Wizards the world has ever seen. It appears that they have operations going in nearly every continent. Each member of The Seven have a blood-red numeral seven branded on their left palm. None of the members have ever been captured. Every time the Aurors were close to detaining one of members, they would touch the tip of their wand to the number seven burned on their palm and immediately die, making sure they are unable to divulge any information about the syndicate. For this reason, each member of The Seven wears a black leather glove on their left hand, for extra precaution.

While the different Ministries of Magic work effortlessly to destroy The Seven, they do their best to keep life as ordinary as possible for the community. Dementors from Wizarding prisons across the world search through rural areas for their different hideouts. However, this does little good. As skilled as Marsden was in the Dark Arts, he was equally as skilled in Defense Against the Dark Arts. Each member of The Seven are highly skilled at conjuring powerful Patronus Charms, making the Ministry's efforts with the Dementors very little help.

Marsden's true goal is to build the organization large enough to take over the Ministries of Magic across the earth. If he and the rest of The Seven are not stopped, he plans to exterminate all Muggles, create what he calls a "perfect race", and declare himself Lord of the Wizarding Earth.
